The Unison Research S6 Black Edition is a special edition version of one of Unison Research’s most beloved integrated tube amplifiers. Built on the musical foundation of the original S6, the Black Edition brings upgraded circuitry, greater output power, refined power management, a built-in DAC section, and a striking new cosmetic design.

With its piano black wood front panel, black gun metal finish, and updated lettering graphics, the S6 Black Edition has a more modern and elegant appearance while preserving the warmth, richness, and natural musicality that Unison Research tube amplifiers are known for.

The S6 Black Edition delivers 40 watts per channel, approximately 15% more power than the standard S6. Its signal path and power supply have been revised for improved clarity, dynamics, and low-frequency control.

The amplifier uses six KT77 Gold Lion output valves, with three valves operating in parallel for each channel, along with two ECC83 Gold Lion signal valves in the preamp section. The power valves operate in pure Class A in ultralinear configuration, giving the S6 Black Edition its rich tone, smooth presentation, and natural musical flow.

In addition to four analog RCA inputs, the S6 Black Edition includes Unison Research’s DAC3 digital section, adding USB, Toslink optical, and SPDIF coaxial inputs.

The USB input supports PCM up to 384kHz, native DSD up to DSD256, and DoP up to DSD128. Toslink and SPDIF support playback up to 192kHz.

An unfiltered RCA subwoofer output is also included, allowing you to add a subwoofer while preserving the sonic character of the amplifier.
