A modern integrated amplifier: AS 2.3

In the tradition and with our cumulative experience of developing compact all-in-one devices without compromising on sound since the 1990s, the new high-performance integrated amplifier INSPIRATION AS 2.3 has been created on the basis of the AVM X-STREAM Engine®. Numerous innovations have been incorporated and the new RC X App also completely controls the AS 2.3. Device towers and overflowing cable tangle become superfluous: All modern connections are available so that even a TV can be connected via HDMI ARC. To achieve our goal of making the smallest integrated amplifier one of the best sounding on the world market, we have miniaturized proven sound technologies from our all-in-one flagship CS 8.3 and designed it into a narrow, screwless aluminum precision housing of only 34 cm.

Our main focus was placed on a completely modernized app control: The AVM RC X app clearly offers all important functions. Simple, intuitive operation and a clear and nicely designed user interface make managing even large music collections a breeze. This makes you want to explore new music on numerous streaming platforms. The AVM RC X app is available for iOS (Apple) and Android devices.

The new AVM X-STREAM Engine® streams all high-resolution formats, including DSD (256). This streaming engine is a complete in-house development by AVM and is entirely software-based and can therefore be updated online in a future-proof manner. An HDMI (ARC) interface is also on board, as well as a modern Bluetooth 5.0 connection and other digital inputs, plus a USB-A interface as well. Special attention was paid to the high-performance phono input stage for MM and MC. This high-precision input stage was completely redesigned for installation in the compact AS 2.3. This ensures even better sound, especially in combination with the AVM ROTATION turntables. Completely new are the digital outputs, which can also be volume controlled. Via the HDMI ARC input, TV devices can also be easily connected and conveniently controlled.

The AS 2.3 has also made a huge leap in terms of pure sound quality. This is based on the use of a 140 W amplifier stage, which also power-hungry speakers effortlessly at all volumes. The completely new amplifier stages are based on the large CS 8.3 and have been optimized for use in the compact AS 2.3 cabinet.

The digital section of the AS 2.3 has been redesigned from scratch because this crucial part of the AS 2.3 is based specifically on our decades of development experience. A selected ESS from the new generation (9038 Q 2 M) is now used here as a digital/analog converter, which is also a clear sonic gain that benefits all digital sources and reproduces all high-resolution formats perfectly and faithfully.

The AS 2.3 is available in its standard finishes of aluminum silver or black, and on request also as an elegant CELLINI version with a chrome-plated and hand-polished front. Like all AVM Inspiration masterpieces, the AS 2.3 is manufactured purely by hand in the AVM Malsch factory. By far the largest part of the suppliers, e.g. for the precise housing parts, are also located in the immediate vicinity. You are welcome to watch our creative process in our ‘Making-of’ video.

Repeated, intensive quality controls during all manufacturing steps and a break-in period of several days for each individual device ensure our promise of maximum reliability in the long term and we grant a 2-year warranty on the compact AS, with online registration 2 additional years.
