The Opera Grand Mezza V2 is a slender floorstanding speaker designed to deliver clear, balanced sound without dominating the room.

Its two-and-a-half-way driver array combines a 26 mm soft-dome tweeter with two 150 mm aluminum-cone drivers. With 92 dB sensitivity, the Grand Mezza V2 delivers impressive scale and dynamics without requiring exceptionally powerful amplification.

Available in Rosewood or Cement Grey with Opera’s signature eco-leather detailing, it combines versatile proportions with unmistakably Italian design.

Full Sound from a Slim Floorstander

The Grand Mezza V2 is the slimmest floorstanding speaker in Opera’s Classica V2 range, making it easier to integrate into a living room or dedicated listening space.

Its dual 150 mm drivers produce greater scale, bass extension, and dynamic range than a compact standmount while maintaining a clean, elegant profile.

The result is a balanced presentation with clear vocals, precise imaging, and enough weight to bring rock, jazz, orchestral, and electronic music to life.

Clear, Balanced Driver Performance

The 26 mm soft-dome tweeter uses a reinforced moving assembly, double ferrite magnet, and aluminum front plate to maintain smooth, controlled high frequencies even at higher listening levels.

Two 150 mm black-anodized aluminum drivers handle the midrange and bass. Developed through Opera’s collaboration with Scan-Speak, the drivers are designed to combine low coloration with fast, controlled movement.

Together, they deliver expressive vocals, strong mid-bass definition, and a spacious, well-organized soundstage.

Dual-Chamber Bass Loading

Rather than using a conventional bass-reflex enclosure, the Grand Mezza V2 employs Opera’s dual-chamber, series-connected resonator system.

This design extends low-frequency response while creating a gentler bass roll-off and reducing unnecessary driver movement.

The Grand Mezza V2 reaches down to 48 Hz, providing satisfying bass depth while preserving speed, clarity, and integration with the midrange.

High Sensitivity and Easy Amplifier Matching

With 92 dB sensitivity, the Grand Mezza V2 can produce impressive volume and dynamic contrast without requiring a high-powered amplifier.

Its 6-ohm nominal impedance and recommended amplifier range of 25 to 130 watts make it suitable for many quality solid-state and tube amplifiers.

The 3.8-ohm minimum impedance means the best results will come from an amplifier with stable current delivery.

Designed to Reduce Coloration

The tall cabinet uses reinforced internal chambers, carefully angled surfaces, and high-density polyurethane damping to control resonance and internal reflections.

The chamber behind the drivers is sharply angled to distribute reflections away from the most sensitive frequency range.

This helps preserve vocal clarity, image focus, and low-level detail while allowing the cabinet to remain quiet as listening levels rise.

Carefully Designed Crossover

The Grand Mezza V2 crossover uses a dedicated network to control the interaction between its two aluminum drivers.

Ultra-low-loss inductors help preserve signal detail, while careful phase alignment improves driver integration both on and off axis.

The result is precise soundstage layering and a cohesive presentation across the listening area.

Contemporary Italian Design

The Grand Mezza V2 combines a narrow profile with the curved cabinet and furniture-grade finish associated with Opera Loudspeakers.

The cabinet is available in Rosewood or Cement Grey, with the front, top, and rear panels wrapped in eco-leather. A matching base provides stability while maintaining the speaker’s clean proportions.
