The Ruark Talisman-R brings one of Ruark’s most important loudspeaker designs into the present. Inspired by the original Talisman introduced in 1990, this elegant floorstanding speaker combines a slim, distinctive profile with thoroughly modern acoustic engineering.

Designed for listeners who care equally about sound and their living space, the Talisman-R delivers a natural, engaging presentation with convincing scale and bass extension—without the visual bulk of a traditional tower speaker.

A Modern Ruark Classic

The original Talisman helped establish Ruark’s reputation for loudspeakers that looked as considered as they sounded. The new Talisman-R retains its recognizable sloped front baffle and slender proportions while incorporating decades of accumulated design and engineering experience.

Its clean lines, refined materials and compact footprint allow it to sit comfortably in a living room while still delivering the scale and authority expected from a true floorstanding speaker.

Natural, Engaging Sound

Talisman-R uses a custom Ruark 6.5-inch NS+ long-throw woofer with a treated natural-fiber cone, paired with a 27mm silk-dome tweeter. The result is a smooth, cohesive and lifelike presentation designed for long, enjoyable listening sessions.

A carefully optimized crossover uses premium audio-grade capacitors, low-loss inductors and quality resistors to improve phase integration, preserve detail and reduce distortion.

Bass response extends to a typical in-room 40Hz, giving music satisfying weight and presence while retaining the clarity and control needed for vocals, acoustic instruments and more complex recordings.

Engineered for Low Coloration

A speaker cabinet should remain quiet while its drivers reproduce the music. Ruark’s decoupled front-baffle system uses elastomer bushings and damping strips to reduce the transfer of driver vibration into the main enclosure.

Internal bracing, acoustic lining and compound wadding further control cabinet resonance, standing waves and unwanted energy. This allows the Talisman-R to produce a cleaner, more focused soundstage with less cabinet coloration.

Elegant and Stable

Each Talisman-R is supported by a solid-steel plinth that lowers the speaker’s center of gravity and gives it a subtle floating appearance when viewed from the front.

Adjustable rubber feet and carpet spikes are included, allowing the speakers to be securely positioned on hard flooring or carpet.

Flexible Amplifier Matching

With 87dB sensitivity, a nominal 6-ohm impedance and a recommended amplifier range of 50–250 watts, the Talisman-R can be partnered with a wide variety of quality integrated amplifiers and hi-fi separates.

Dual gold-plated binding posts support conventional single-wire connections as well as bi-wiring. The terminals accept banana plugs, spade connectors or bare speaker wire.

For a complete Ruark system, the Talisman-R is an ideal visual and acoustic partner for the Ruark R710 Hi-Fi Console and also works beautifully with the Ruark R610 Music Console.
